Labrador Rescue

In March 2025, I was approached by Ashli, the Operations Manager of Labrador Rescue South Africa, to rebuild the organisation’s outdated and dysfunctional website. Their previous site was built on a legacy platform by a volunteer’s husband—it lacked mobile responsiveness, had major usability and design issues, no SSL certificate, and no integrated way to accept donations online.

I completely redesigned and rebuilt the site in Wix Studio, using a powerful CMS framework to transform how the organisation works. All forms are now digital and integrated with the CMS, which allows the team to manage adoption and surrender applications, track communication, and streamline volunteer workflows—no more printing and emailing forms manually. The CMS structure also enables segmentation of contacts for future email marketing and donor management.

Beyond the website, I also:
– Designed a bold, friendly new logo and visual identity
– Rebranded all social media channels and created a consistent content strategy
– Designed templates and brand elements for stationery, email signatures, and tax forms
– Set up integrated email marketing automations
– Continue to volunteer as their designer, creating social posts, streamlining workflows, refining automations and supporting the site on an ongoing basis

This project was done entirely pro bono as a way to support a cause I care deeply about. I even managed to secure a sponsor to pay for the Wix subscription. It has been one of my most rewarding projects—combining design, strategy, technology, and heart to help rescue, rehabilitate and rehome Labradors across South Africa.
